Nickle Alloys

Nickel is a versatile and commonly used metal that’s found in abundance beneath the earth’s crust. Axel Fredrik Cronstedt, a Swedish chemist mineralogist first discovered and isolated nickel. From there Axel noticed that nickel exhibits several sought after properties rendering it useful for various industrial applications.

One major desired property is that nickel is highly ductile and valuable as an alloying element to alter the properties of other metals. As an example, types of stainless steel can be created by adding nickel to the production of alloys offering corrosion resistance and high-temperature endurance, which is ideal for using in chemical plants where exposure to caustic substances may be common.
